Mac Menu Bar

Last Updated: Jun 25, 2013 03:28PM CDT
Create notes and to-dos directly from your Mac menu bar by installing NoteSuite's menu bar app. This app can be installed simply by checking "Allow NoteSuite Access from Mac Menu Bar" in the General tab of NoteSuite's preferences.

NoteSuite's Menu Bar app gives you these abilities:

New Note

Choosing "New Note" opens the NoteSuite app to a new note.

Quick To-do

The Quick To-do option lets you create a to-do in NoteSuite by typing it in natural words. NoteSuite will figure out due dates automatically if you write "due," and a description of when it's due, at the end of your sentence. (For example, "Marketing Report due two weeks from Tuesday.")

Here are some of the things NoteSuite understands when calculating due dates:
  • Days, Weeks, and Months
  • Today, Tomorrow, and Yesterday
  • Days of the week

New To-do List

Quickly create an entire to-do list by choosing "New To-do List." The to-do list you create will be saved in NoteSuite's to-do module.

Today List

Your Today list shows everything that's due today, plus everything that needs to get started (based on the Start dates set for each to-do). It's the one place that always shows everything you need to worry about right now.
